The Flooring

Our home is steeped in traditional values, we have thick carpet with high quality underlay in the corridors and lounges. These are the areas where our residents are more likely to fall whilst moving around. The flooring is designed to provide a cushioning effect; all of the bedrooms are carpeted for the same reason.

Decoration

Our residents often express a sense of fear or foreboding whenever they are required to stay in hospital for more than a day. We have decided to distance the ambience of the home away from the clinical hospital like feel.

In the vast majority of our rooms and all communal areas the decoration is wall-paper. This traditional decor is more reflective of what our residents were used to when they were at home, and are more likely to feel comfortable with.

En-Suites

We have five En-Suites, we found that our residents were not keen on having 'Toilets in their bedrooms', they were more used to living with outside wc's or with bath and toilets combined in a separate room. So, we also have a number of wc's/wc & bath combos in close proximity to the rooms our residents occupy.
