Short Term or Respite care

What happens to your beloved relative when your family is away, the carer is unwell or when it is not possible to look after him or her for a short period of time for some other reason? An ideal solution is short-term residential care, also known as respite care. This form of care allows us to look after your loved one in our home, for up to 28 days in the year.

This means that your relative receives the same loving and professional care as our permanent residents and can feel safe and supported in his or her own personal space within our home.

Even the most dedicated home-based carers will admit to times of unbearable stress, especially when caring for the Mentally Infirmed or those living with Dementia. Should you need it, we can provide a well deserved break from the daily routines and give you, the carer a chance to recuperate.

Short term respite stays give home-based carers the opportunity to take scheduled holidays or breaks throughout the year. Carers can obtain assistance when their loved one is going through a difficult period, perhaps convalescing after a hospital visit for example.

The carer can benefit from this form of support knowing that their loved one is in a safe, warm, home from home environment with 24-hour care on hand.

In addition, respite stays help build relationships between the individual, the carer, home and staff. These relationships can also prove beneficial should a longer stay become necessary at some point in the future.
